Case Study: Staro Petrovo Selo
Staro Petrovo Selo, a village on the southern slopes of Požeška Gora Mountain and in the Sava river plain in the region of Slavonia, Croatia, 12 km southeast of Nova Gradiška. According to the 2001 census, there are 6,352 people living in the area. The local economy is based on farming, livestock breeding and food industry (cheese).
A sewer system is being built for the disposal of sewage of 800 residents. The wastewater will be discharged in a horizontal subsurface flow constructed wetland. The construction of this system is planned for 2012.
